Hello and Welcome:
This site serves as the blog for ENC3021 with Julianna Edmonds at Florida State University.
This blog functions as a way for us to reflect collectively on our readings before and after class time.
Reflective Blog Posts
In each weekly post (Due Monday by 3:00PM), you should demonstrate critical engagement with the texts you have already read in the course, as well as the texts assigned for Monday's class discussion. See syllabus for a more in-depth description of what this entails. I will provide you with the prompt each week (It will be posted on this blog), and your response should look back on the readings we've done, while also looking forward to the reading you will discuss on Monday. You should aim for 2-3 well-developed paragraphs of text for each weekly post. Unlike QQC posts, you are not required to comment on your peers' responses, but you should nevertheless read your peers' posts and try to put your thoughts in conversation with them.
QQC stands for Quote. Question. Comment.
In each weekly post (Due Wednesday by 3:00PM), you are responsible for providing one interesting/confusing/thought-provoking quote from the reading and one question you have about the reading – its content, its argument, or its relation to other readings we’ve done or other things you’ve encountered in your own life.
As a part of this assignment, you will then comment on someone else’s post, offering a substantive paragraph where you try to engage with the other person’s question. This means you will be making two separate posts in the blog for each QQC assignment. If you are the first person to post, please return to the blog and comment on a peer’s question once more have been posted. These posts are due every Wednesday by 3:00PM, unless otherwise specified in the course calendar.
