Reflective Blog Post 1

After reading all the theorist the approach I begin associate rhetoric with is Aristotle approach. He believed by analyzing formal logic will reveal absolute truth. This is so true in today's society. People like to receive facts before believing any information that you are providing. Page 170 it states "Aristotle emphasizes the empirical means by which it was obtained." Testing the rhetoric issue is what can convince someone personally and provide the truth.
Aristotle believed in 3 forms of persuasion. Persuasion by character, emotion, and logic. A person has to come off as trustworthy. Displaying good sense, moral, and goodwill. Also the person should come off as credible. Personally I can't believe someone I don't trust as a person. This plays a big part in politics today. Persuasion by logic, is self explanatory. Providing deductive arguments that provide truth and logical facts is very important when deal with rhetoric.
